Friday was Jeffrey's birthday. We spent 6 hours cleaning what we thought was an already clean house. Riky did a bunch of my windows and mirrors. I am amazed at how clean he can get something. We even washed some of the screens. My house sparkled. I am so thankful that Riky was home and that he doesn't mind lending a helping hand. Just his presence will keep the boys motivated enough to get the chores done in a timely mannor, but when he pitches in I can feel the difference. He makes things sparkle.
Jeffrey was pleased with all of his gifts and also with all of the attention. I can't believe that he is 7! It is amazing to me that it could have been 7 years since he was a baby. Yet at the same time, I find it hard to remember a time when there was no Jeffrey in our lives. We are so blessed by this boy. He is full of energy and has such an imagination. We love him so much and are blessed that the Lord gave him to us. We don't know what we would do without him. We are truly a blessed family.
I wish I could keep that in mind when my house is less than sparkeling and boys are sword fighting in their underwear at five minutes till time to go.
