Patient in Tribulation

On Wednesdays Pastor has been doing a Bible Study on Faith.

Through this lesson he brought up the fact that Satan uses people to discourage us when we are on fire for the Lord. Pastor is so right. It is so easy to quit and so hard to stay the course. I really want to quit right now, but Pastor reminded me Friday, Saturday and again on Sunday when I talked to him that God allows Satan to give us the trials to make us stronger.

So, it goes to reason that I will come out of this stronger.

Until then, I just have to go through the motions of normalcy until I am over the heartache of the moment. Satan is real and he works through the last person you would expect to allow themselves to be used by him. Satan can use anyone.

And he does.

And he did.

as an aside: I started writing this post about 2:00 in the morning on Friday. Since Sunday, I have determined to not be discouraged and to move forward. I will not be discouraged and Satan is not going to steal my fire, or my service, no matter who he uses.

And! Yet! The Lord put these portions of scripture from Romans 12 on my heart. (So much so, that I am reading them about 6 times a day!)

...Patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
...Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not....
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Although, I must admit, there are times that the "heaping coals of fire on his head" is the part that stands out(and sounds the best) to me!
