Does everybody but me know about this?

This is the "Forever Stamp"

I was at the post office today and the postmaster was telling me that the rates for postage stamps are going up again on May 12th.

As I was trying to choosing a "not ugly" stamp, he mentioned these stamps will work now and for the rate change. I thought that was cool, but I didn't want to buy too many because we use the bulk of our postage stamps around Christmas and I didn't want to still be stuck with stamps that I had to get additional postage for (again). He informed me that if I have some left over in 30 years, these will still work then.

At the current rate.

At the rate these things are going up, it could be $5.00 or more per stamp at that time.

And these stamps that I purchased for $.41 will still work. Is this public knowledge?

I ended up purchasing 100 for now and I am going to talk to Riky and maybe purchase a couple hundred more soon. I would hate to pass this up, but I also don't need to spend the grocery money on stamps :)

So, I though that I would spread this little tidbit around, a little anyway. Hope it saves someone a few dollars!
