Last night at church, someone anonymously left Riky and I a card with allot of money in it on our pew. We don't exactly have assigned seating, but everyone knows that we sit on the front left pew. So, it could have been anybody. The card said it was for "unexpected expenses". We are not sure exactly what it was intended for, but Sherri reminded me that we did have a trip to the emergency room this month for Riky's eye. The brakes are also out on our car, but we do have the van and we have been using that instead. So, there are probably tons of things that it could go for, but for now we are going to hang onto it because God knows what is around the corner for us. I have mentioned that Riky has been home-- allot. Well, allot is not even the word.**(and my spell checker keeps grabbing it when I spell it "alot", so I hope that "allot" is really how you spell it and I don't look silly misspelling it over and over : )** Riky worked 18 hours in the last 2 weeks. We are guaranteed to have some expenses where we will need this "unexpected" blessing for. It is amazing what a relief it is to have enough and to know it. I didn't even know that I was a little tense until we received this card and money. I immediately sent up a "thank you" to God and I could feel the tension release in my shoulders. As I said, I didn't even know that I was tense, but obviously, I was.
I mentioned in other posts about Riky having to go to the optometrist. Twice. There is another blessing in that story. After taking Riky to the emergency room on Thursday night, he woke up Friday morning in excruciating pain. He sat in the dark until about 10:00am. At that point I couldn't handle it anymore than he could. I called Heights Eyecare (because a few months ago, Riky got form oil in his eye at work and that is where they sent him,--I figured that they already had his name in their computer so it would be less hassle to call them) and asked them if there was anything else that we could do. They told me that they could get him right in and they would take a look at him. Not having optical insurance, I asked how much it was going to cost. $69. I told her I would call her back. Riky and I discussed it and decided to try to dope him up on Tylenol and see if I could find anything stronger in the recesses of the medicine/linen closet that may have escaped our notice and wasn't too expired. I called them back and said that with the layoff, we really couldn't afford it, so we would just try to be patient and wait for his eye to heal. Within minutes of getting off of the phone it was ringing again and it was Heights Eyecare calling me back. The receptionist had spoken to Dr. Kimball and he said that he would squeeze Riky in between other patients in for FREE. We were shocked. What a blessing it was for us. He ended up seeing Riky on Friday and Saturday both for FREE. Riky's eye is 100% healed now, his vision is back to normal, and we have a new optometrist. We will be ever faithful to Dr. Kimball from now on.
Riky and I have been relying on God for quite a while now. We have been tithing and trusting God to guide us in so many ways. We have been blessed over and over. The house that we live in is a HUGE answer to prayer and contest to our faith that God would provide. As you all know, Riky is the only one that works in our family and God has been faithful in that. God is faithful. He is reliable. He is able. He is willing to provide for our needs. We are learning more and more about his provisions as each day goes by. We are blessed.
And if the anonymous donor is reading this: Thank You. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

The Lord is SO good! I'm thrilled for you guys. :) I can hardly wait to see what He's going to do next. Between all the stuff He's done for both of our families in recent months, it would be incredibly foolish not to trust Him for the future, huh? And yet....faith always seems to be a struggle.
Growth.
That's what it's all about. ;)
