Our Latest Lap Dog

Here's Riky and his Lap Dog, Jake

Here's Jeffrey and his baby, Memory

Paco, Jordan and Grandma's new Rat Terrier, Little Lady, who will eventually bear Paco's love children.

Meet Jake. He is our latest addition to the household. He is a wonderful dog. He is so patient with the boys. I have even tested his temperament by pulling on his tale while he eats and he doesn't even turn. He almost never barks. Not even when the neighbor dogs are barking up a storm. You should see him. He will just walk up to the fence and..."mark" it. Then he about-faces and goes on his merry way. He plays with the boys really well and is a great addition to the family.

We do have one issue with him, though. He thinks that he is a Paco sized dog. He will jump into your lap at will and doesn't understand what the problem is when you tell him to get down. He loves Riky tremendously and can't get enough of his attention.

Riky has spent the last two days in the dark on the couch due to a major scratch on his cornea. Jake can't stand the idea of Riky not needing comforted by him, so he will try to cuddle when Riky is resting. It is quite amusing, for us, but not so much for Riky at this time of much needed relaxation. Just taking this picture was torture for him when my camera flashed. Please lift him up in prayer for a speedy recovery and no permanent damage to his eye. He goes back to the optician tomorrow to assess how it is healing. This will be our third trip. We covet your prayers.

What a beautiful dog. So sorry to hear about Riky..I will be praying for him. I thought for a moment he went "HOLLYWOOD" with the dark glasses!! Sure great to hear that the new dog is good with the boys and doesn't mind being messed with while eating...that really tells you that you have a good dog. Go pat him on the head for me...no NOT Riky, I mean the dog.
