I just realized that it has been over a week since I have done a post. Shame on me. Sorry to all of you faithful readers. I can't say that I will do better in the future, just that I will try.
With school in full swing, I have been busy, busy, busy. Michael is continuing his normal schedule from last year. We didn't really take a summer break, but we did spend less time in our studies. We did add some fun stuff like typing this year. He is really enjoying that. Truly, with no sarcasm. I am teaching him with the computer screen turned off so that he can just pay attention to what he is supposed to be doing, not what he just did. It works quite well that way. I wish that I could be as accurate as he is, but I have the bad habit of using the backspace button frequently.
Jeffrey is learning the three "R's" reading, riting, and rithmetic : ) I am sure that whoever came up with that three R's thing was not a well educated person! Jeffrey's attention span is about as long as this --
That's all folks. I am trying to break up the day as much as possible to accommodate his wanderings, but it makes for a challenge. When I can keep him focused, he does well, and he seems to be an auditory learner, so I have taken to reading most of his lessons to him. Jordan benefits from this also.
Jordan seems to enjoy school. Who would have thunk it? My "high maintenance boy" doesn't fight me when I say that it is time to get out his books. (It may help that he gets to watch a 30 minute video when he is done with school so that Jeffrey and I can read without distraction.) He is learning to write his name and all of the shapes and colors... normal preschool-school stuff.
All of this to say that I am busy beyond belief. I am trying to tackle a list that is as long as my arm from day to day. I am making a dent in it, though. as the Bible says...precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, and there a little.(Isiah 28:10) So, I will keep picking away at my projects and striving toward a board that has everything neatly crossed off of it. Little by little.

Baby steps really do work, as unbelievable as it sounds. Unfortunately, our work is never really done. We only help ourselves maintain a livable level of sanity by plugging away at things. There's a fine line there though, and I feel like I'm on the verge of slipping over the edge today. You know. :)
