I have this friend that I met a little over a year ago. Within moments of talking to her, I noticed the word fabulous was used to replace most adjectives such as : great, fine, wonderful... Every time she said fabulous, I could not help but smile. I asked Riky if he noticed it. He did not, but the next time we talked to her, he paid more attention and it became blatantly obvious that she was not aware of how often she said "fabulous" I thought that it was adorable and it still brought a smile to my face EVERY single time she said it. Finally, months later, I asked her where she had gotten it from. She was not even aware that she was saying it. She apologized profusely once she started noticing how often she used it. She started paying attention and realized that she has another friend that says it all the time. Aparently, bubbly conversational words are contagous! It made me think how boring normal conversations could be transformed into something memorable:
him: Hi Honey, how was your day?
me: Fine, how was yours?
him: Good.
do-over
him: Hi Honey, how was your day?
me: Spectacular! or Fabulous! or Remarkable! or Fantastic! or Stupendous! or Eventful! or Teriffic! or (my dad used to say) Fantasmaglorious! or Glorious! or Magnificent! or even just plain old Great!
him: Really? What happened today?
See the difference? I challenge you to find a colorful word and use it to replace a boring word that you use frequently. It takes some time to change the way you are comfortable, but it is guaranteed to put a smile on some faces. It really is FABULOUS :> can anyone think of anymore? I am tapped out!
