Side by Side

Burn had a visit today with his Big Brother S.  Usually Rissa is right there and there is a ton of chatting and questions and lots and lots of talking.  Today it was Just Burn and Big S.  They spent 5 minutes talking and the rest sitting side by side putting Lego's together.  Just putting Lego's together.  In silence.
     First of all.... I could hardly stand it!
     Secondly, I found it very interesting.
     How could two boys that haven't seen each other regularly for YEARS not spend time catching up.  Girls could never do this.  These boys were content for a whole hour to just sit and play side by side.  And you know what?  They both said that it was the best visit they had EVER had.
     Ever?  Really?
     Two boys, ripped apart by circumstances out of their control brought back together by a box of Lego's, some time together and a whole lot of silence.  Healing, bonding, timeless silence.
     And a shoebox full of Lego's.
