Build a bestie

Meet Commander Teddy and Stan.

Stan is Jordan's new bear.  He is the one with the Captain America outfit on.  He is the new best friend of a 10 year old boy.
Commander is the one that I want to introduce you to.  He is Jeffrey's.  Jeffrey is a 13 year old boy who loves his new bear.  A thirteen year old boy, people.  He spent some of his own money to buy the sunglasses and the shoes.  My 13 year old wanted him so badly.  He spent weeks before the girl's Build-a-Bear birthday party deciding what bear he wanted and what clothes he wanted for him.
I don't know about you all, but when I was 13 I was already over dolls and had moved on to sex, drugs and rock 'n roll.  I was a rebellious teenager who thought she knew it all and wouldn't take no for an answer.  Riky was the same way at that age.  He was well on his way to becoming a teen alcoholic.  Neither of us had much(if any) innocence left.
But then there's my boys.  Michael has never been on a date or kissed a girl.  Jeffrey still likes teddy bears.  Jordan giggles when Riky and I kiss.
WE are doing something right, people.  Our boys will be better people than we ever were and we will see a generation that loves God raise another generation that loves God.  With God it is possible. There is hope for the next generation.
