Food, Friendship, and Fireproof

Thursday Riky and I went on a semi-spontaneous date. It was fabulous. We were planning on going to see the movie "Fireproof" on Friday. Riky had asked to be let off early because it was playing at 1 and 4 only. ((CRAZY)) On Thursday we checked and it was not going to BE in the theaters on Friday, they were pulling it.

Riky ended up getting off early on Thursday anyway, so he raced home, took a quick shower, and we were off.

The movie was just as good as we thought it would be. I had watched some clips already in my impatience. I probably shouldn't have, though. With the exception of a few scenes, I had already seen the good parts....If I ever get the chance at something like that again, I will try to refrain from "peeking". It spoiled it for me a little...But what's new...I am a peeker by nature and have ruined many a gift/surprise for myself by being a little too curious and impatient.

I would recommend this movie to anyone, from newlyweds, to engaged couples, to people celebrating their silver anniversary.
We had a fantastic time while we were out. Michael took great care of his brothers and didn't mind that we didn't pay him much when we got back. The boys had a great time without us. I was worried, but also a little proud that Michael is mature enough to watch his brothers for us. We had dinner with some friends and had a fantastic time catching up with them. It feels like ages since we had adult conversation with another couple. Those moments are something that I cherish and smile about later. The boys did call us during dinner, but I would rather them call than to come home later and find out there was a problem, so that wasn't so bad.

It was refreshing to have an adults only evening. I say the same thing every time. We need to do this more often!
I am going to purchase Fireproof the second that I get a chance. I might purchase two so that I have one to loan out and one to keep. It is that good!
