I hope that I am a encouragement with my speech and not discouraging. One of the things that I pray often is:

I can support Riky by
praying for him regularly and specifically
expressing gratitude to him for what he does
doing things for him that he especially enjoys
encouraging him when I sense that he is facing difficulty
keeping my attitude toward difficulties one of patience and love
reminding myself to be a blessing as his wife and partner, not a burden.

Lord, I am committed to being the wife for Riky that will make him happy and fulfilled as my husband. I want him to feel my support, to know that I am devoted to him. I ask you to forgive me where I have torn down our home instead of building it up. Help me to make our home an attractive place in its appearance so that Riky will look forward to coming home and spending time with me. Help me to make my attitude one of Love and Adoration. Help me to devote my life to being Riky’s wife instead of just Amanda. Help me to love him in such a powerful way that he is overjoyed to come home every day. I am willing to do whatever you need to make my spirit beautiful in both your eyes and my husbands.

I know that I often fail to be encouraging to both my husband and my friends. I sometimes think that venting is a great outlet for my frustration. It isn't. If I go to my Lord in prayer and give him my frustrations and discouraging thoughts, no one else is brought down by them, and he really does carry my burdens. I need to increase my faith in this area. I hope to someday be a great woman of God. I will continue to grow in the Lord each and every day. I "will press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:14
