Rain Days
One of the favorite sounds in our house is "Daddy's Home!" Even Paco (the(green)dog pictured below) gets caught up in the excitement. There is a stampeed to the door and sometimes people do get hurt! Even better for the boys is a Rain Day :) Riky drives a concrete truck, and some days are too wet to pour. Tuesday and Wednesday were two of those days. We live in a rather dry climate, so these festive occasions are few and far between. Since we homeschool, our entire day is interupted when Daddy is home in the middle of the week. All of the boys get to take advantage of extra Daddy time. We shift into some type of loose schedule with tons of extra curricular activities. Most of those include alot of work, and many Loooong hours. My husband is(used to be-until this job) a procrastinator, but also a finisher. Which is, by the way, the best kind of procrastinator to have if you really must get one ;) So, because of this Riky has no concept of time when he has a rain day. He stacks project after project onto the adgenda without remembering that he is working with a woman and 3 young boys. It is loads of fun to snake drains at 1:00 in the morning and I have done my fair share of painting, calking, scrubbing...well after midnight. But, because of all of this, not inspite of, I Love My Man. I have spoken to so many women whose husbands are procrastinators, but not finishers and they ENVY me the late night projects. I am sure that I can not even imagine the mess left behind a man who doesn't finish...well, anything. So, Tuesday and Wednesday the Lord blessed us with an abundance of rain and we dove into our seemingly never ending to-do list as I listened to the joyous sound of "DADDY'S HOME" all day!

I was out grilling when you called last night. We ate late. Excellent post. Some of the wording reminded me of the Anne of Green Gables books! Have a great day.
